Guys and Gals,
I applied for a professional position at this holdings company in Texas. I was offered the position, and passed the background check. I looked at my offer letter, and had the option to opt out of the arbitration agreement, which I exercised, and it had the following text:
You understand that you will not be subject to
retaliation if you exercise your right to assert claims or opt-out of coverage under this Dispute
Resolution Agreement.
The company made it a big deal that I opted out of arbitration in writing, and soon after, the job offer was rescinded with a totally BS reason days before my start date.
Fortunately for me, my current company gave me a counter offer that exceeded this new job's offer, which I accepted, but this shows that companies will give you the option to opt out of arbitration, but then pull the offer if you exercise your option. That was very scummy of the company.
