My probation has been extended to 3 months in a job I loath. Quit now or stay?

Hi all, My Probation has been extended to 3 months in a job I loath (quit or stay?) So I’m currently in my first year on a finance graduate scheme. It’s been 6 months and my probation period has finished. However, my line manager says I haven’t passed and so it’s been extended to 3 months. I was shocked because I honestly don’t think its fair at all. My line manager is barely involved in what I do and hardly speaks to me. It’s actually another team member who’s actually been managing me and has told my manager that I may not have been great to begin with (e.g. I had never used excel before)but she told him that I’ve improved a lot and I’m doing well. I even had a session with him just before the probation verdict was made and he said that hes heard good things about…

Hi all, My Probation has been extended to 3 months in a job I loath (quit or stay?)

So I’m currently in my first year on a finance graduate scheme. I even had a session with him just before the probation verdict was made and he said that hes heard good things about me (although I also said that I don’t think I’ve been given enough support from him, which might have been a mistake). I can also tell that my manager doesn’t like me because my predecessor was just more of a natural at the role. My role is very technical which can be challenging at times and I’ve asked my line manager for feedback and support on numerous occasions so that I can be just as good as my predecessor (this comparison has also given me great anxiety). The past 6 months have been quite depressing as the working culture is quite cold, no support is given, alongside the fact that I’m constantly being compared and looked down upon and I feel like I’ve tried my best with the support that I’ve had (i.e next to none). I’m starting to question whether finance is for me because nothing I do seems to be good enough (I’ve also got accounting exams on top of all this ah). The main reason I went into finance was because it pays well but I don’t feel like its worth it anymore, plus the company culture here is awful. Most are telling me to power thru until the scheme is over (its 3 yrs and I’ll be a qualified accountant at the end of it), however a strong part of me has had enough and wants to try pursuing something completely different but less secure (maybe find a job in film making/production which I have a passion for). What should I do?
