So I work in a retirement home and my hours are 7:30-12. Four days on, four days off.
My last day just so happened to land on a Friday last month and just as I was finishing up my shift my and supervisor pulled me to the side and told me he has something on zoom he has to show me, and asked if I was available to join zoom around 5. I was already immediately irritated me as I was off at 12, now I have to log onto zoom at 5 as my weekend begins?
So I reluctantly agree because I was under the impression it had to do with work training, as we do have a lot of online modules to complete here and there. So he ends up texting me the link to join and I do.
I was wrong, I was so so wrong. He ends up going into a whole song and dance and pulls up this huge fucking slideshow about life insurance packages he wants to sell me for AN HOUR. He attempts to give me his whole financial advisor spiel trying to sell me $260 packages that I don’t need. I didn’t shut this down immediately because I was just awestruck he had the balls to do this. I definitely plan on sitting down with the general manager and letting her know before my last day. Just so sick and tired of these leeches.
