As the title says, I'm in Texas and need help with unpaid wages.
I started work at my job on the 24th of April, and my first paycheck didn't hit until the 16ththat paycheck was cashed and spent, but then by the 18th the check got returned, pulling my bank account into the negative by the check amount.
I was supposed to receive a new check by the following Monday, haven't received it. I was supposed to receive another paycheck this past Friday and have not gotten it either. My boss says that he was sued and no longer has access to the account, and that the new owner of the company can cut me a check.
I have already filed an unpaid wages form for the first paycheck, and I will do so again when the time period expires for the second (this coming up thursday).
Is there any other action I need to take at this point? I'm missing close to 4k dollars because of this, which I was going to spend on a trip to my brother's memorial and my rent.
