It’s become unbearable. Mostly due to working full time despite me being part time and falling way behind in school. But the customers, the ginormous mess on the floor and on top of the rounders AND in the fitting room plus the unmanageable go back racks. Retail has always been bad but now it’s much more horrible.
I’ve learned that we workers on the floor make less money than cashiers which I don’t believe the cashiers should make less but we should be paid equally. Being on the floor is multitask after multitask, we also must work 5am-2pm shifts twice a month, reticket items, shift the floor, bring product out from the truck, oh and we’re under staffed every department which also means we have to go up and help cashiers. Which means our floor is unattended and we fall back on cleanliness and our go backs. When we need help, no one comes to our rescue. At the end of the night if the cashiers finish early they’re supposed to help but all they do is look at clothing to see if anything is of their interest. We fall behind everyday. I’m exhausted and doing poorly in school.
I have to put in my 2 weeks today. I can’t take it. I’m sad because i like my kind co workers so much I feel like I owe them my help but I can’t take it.
Any suggestions or advice please, even retail experiences. Thank you all.
