I can’t say I wasn’t surprised. Everything had gotten really weird beginning of 2nd quarter. I was hoping I was just being paranoid, but turns out I wasn’t. I tried working extra hard, not taking time off and contributing extra to meetings. Turns out none of it mattered. The “business needs changed” and they need someone with different experience than mine apparently. The experience they are looking for is actually on my resume if the new manager would have taken the time to talk to me and learn my strengths. They are “being generous” by not ending my employment until 6/1. My manager couldn’t even be part of the call, so I didn’t get to ask questions or say goodbye to the team.
Moral of the story, take that time off because work will be there when you come back and don’t ever do anything extra for someone that wouldn’t do the same to you.
This sucks.
