I am going to through this out there for people who are in something and don't know if they can go do something else. Almost all companies try to make employees feel small and incapable imagining more. I say this as someone who got an engineering degree and saw brilliant people around me doing brilliant things and then in the real-world, it literally is beat out of most engineers that they can't solve a problem or design something themselves and non-standard. Companies don't want employees who think they are capable of more because they will be asking for more money, more training, and won't be happy doing the same thing for years.
