I work at a non-profit thrift store, and I genuinely love my job, but we do get a lot of rude customers. Yesterday, a man dumped a large amount of clothing and other items outside, then came in demanding I give him a donation receipt so that he can write it off on his taxes. I told him I can’t give him a receipt because dumping is dumping regardless of where it takes place, and that it’s illegal. He got pissed off and told me that “I better watch myself”. So, I told him that he can take his stuff back or I’m throwing it away because we’re low staffed during the summer with a lot of traffic. He called me a stupid bitch and then left, I thought that was going to be the end of it. Then this morning my boss called me regarding a review someone left on Google, so I look at it and yep, it was him again. Except he skewed the story and made it appear as if he were the victim of some minimum wage employee taking their anger out on him. I know it’s just a review, but it’s the only 1 star review we’ve received this year and I feel really bad about it.
