After discussing my immediate managers behavior (warehouse environment) I spoke to his boss (A) I agreed with his way of smoothing over the issue. I even said things like I'll be open minded and will go with his approach etc. On my way out he asked if I felt better about the conversation and I said no. I had already mentioned I have social anxiety when explaining the original story. So he asks me the question and I said no.
He. Went. Off.
He told me I was disrespectful and all kinds of things regarding his management style that I literally never said. Im crying at this point and told him ” I'm sorry I made you feel disrespected, however you asked me how I felt and this conversation is deeply uncomfortable for me, as I mentioned already I have social anxiety. I told you my thoughts on the discussion and they included me saying I would try your approach and be open minded so I'm not sure why my feelings are an issue “
He then went on a rant about how he's honest and transparent and I need to be open minded. I told him he was being condescending since I literally said I would and he's repeating it back to me like it's what I need to do.
He then said “well, I'm sure (immediate managers name) didn't mean to make you upset. Couldn't you say that?”
I told him “if this were only about my feelings, I wouldn't be in this office talking to you. This is a work related matter and the guy that uses me to clear floors because no one else does and also being the guy telling me my numbers arent good enough, in front of my peers, is the problem. Not my feelings. “
I don't know what to do. I guess I just needed to vent.
