So I have been working with the same company for about a year and a half. I worked at another location for a year and really enjoyed it. I felt as if my managers appreciated me and I was on my way to moving up within the company. I moved, so I had to transfer.
As soon as I moved, I felt under paid and not appreciated. In fact, it's so bad that it affects the quality of my job. I was given a promotion at the other store, which means my job is mainly helping guests and I was rarely supposed to be on the register. At this place, I'm forced on the register everyday and have even been forced to stop helping a guest on the salesfloor to go on the register. They have actual cashiers, but will call me before the cashiers most of the time. They also get mad if I'm in the bathroom when they need help, and have demanded me to talk to them while in the bathroom to tell them I can't come up. I don't feel comfortable doing that and remove the ear piece so I can use the restroom in peace.
Anyway, there's a manager who has recently been promoted. She makes remarks to me and has gotten mad at me for telling one of our vendors hi in the past. She makes these remarks publicly, and when I called her out on it she said she was grumpy because she needed a root canal.
So yesterday it was about one minute past time for me to go home. I'm heading to the back to grab my stuff and go (also hurting really bad physically). She demands me to backup at the register over the walkie and I told her I'm going home. She gets angry and says, “way to be a team player.”
It was my time to go home, I was hurting, and I just didn't want to be there anymore. She also let the girl who was actually a cashier go home at her time because she was shopping at the time. I just said sorry, grabbed my stuff and went to the door.
