Former company cancels all bonuses

So just over a year ago I left my former company in hospitality of 4 years to move to a competitor. The company itself was always pretty stingy and offered poor rates of pay compared to competitors in the market and since covid have been losing staff all over the place because everyone is moving for better pay. When I was still at the company all the venue managers were complaining they couldn't recruit due to restricted wage budgets.

Fast forward to today and I heard in the grapevine that they've cancelled all the bonuses due qualifying managers on a technicality. These managers had all hit their targets but the small print states bonuses are discretionary and due to the company not making as much profit as forecasted to the stock market they have refused to pay out.

Many of my former colleagues are furious and are actively seeking new employment. This will definitely come back to haunt them.
