It sucks realizing you accidentally help them commit wage theft.

I work at a increasingly busy starbucks now that we have a drive thru, and as of this week they are cutting hours because “labor costs”, but the flow of people stays the same. My shift got cut two entire hours yesterday as soon as I arrived, instead of leaving at 12, I was cut at 9:45 but we were busy at that time so I didn't end up leaving until a little after 10. It wasn't until after I saw him walk away did I realize what I just did. Was it maybe only 20min he shaved off? Sure but right now every bit counts as everyone in the store isnt even getting 30hrs, I saw a shift lead only at 25 for the week. Accidentally commiting wage theft against yourself makes you feel like an idiot and I wish I wasn't so honest.
