I recently accepted an offer from a company that is offering 15k more. I was going to take a work trip but I didn’t want to waste anyones time so I let management know that I have accepted an offer from elsewhere. Couple days later, they told me I could either leave today and write a check or work the two weeks and get deducted $600 for the flight. I will have to pay back the PTO I used (45 hours) in both scenarios. I talked to HR about the situation and pretty much the co owner came up with the solution. Is it legal to pay back the PTO that I used already? This is a family owned company if that makes any difference.
