If DoorDash changed the verbiage of ‘Tip’ to ‘Bid’ everyone would be much happier campers.
A customers mindset will be shifted to “how much am I willing to pay, to have this delivered” vs believing a quality of service is to be expected. Truly speaking in my opinion a Dasher sees a ‘bid’ and decides if the job is worth it. Not (for most) accept a low order and hope it has a decent tip.
