We’ve been understaffed and not meeting expectations. Now overstaffed (my view is staffed just right) and meeting expectations. Management wants to cut down people.

We’ve been understaffed for about 9 months. Management has slacked and blamed multiple things but never the amount of people. They laid off more and more people due to going remote and somehow expected work load to change? Now after months they’ve been hiring more people, not to do better but to “overstaff” us and get rid of the “slackers” (I’m a lead – kind of – so that is why I know this). Well, with the “overstaffing” now complete they’ve been discussing how we’ve met our goals and they need to start getting rid of the existing people. We have around an equal number of people as we did in the past. Clueless. Absolutely fucking clueless. We’ve had people move on to better things, and many of them. Go as fast as you can!
