I recently moved on July 1st after graduating college with a degree in cyber security. I also have multiple industry certifications and 2 years experience as a cyber security technician for Walbro.
Since mid june I've applied to 40 some jobs in my field. Jobs im either fully qualified or even over qualified for. Despite this I got only 1 interview, the guy was impressed with my qualifications and experience for someone my age, his words. Few days later I get an email saying I got turned down. A few have gotten back to me to tell me they're turning me down. But the vast majority just ghost me.
Im so tired of this what's the point, why did I spend all this time and money into getting qualified in a “lucrative and understaffed field”? When I was at Walbro, an international company of 2500 employees, I was only 1 of 2 cyber people. As you can imagine that caused issues. So if that's presumably the case, why am I basically being told to fuck off by all these companies? Im just done..
