Alright y’all. Buckle the fuck up. I’ve been in higher education for the past few years, and I recently accepted an offer from Medmen for an HR Specialist role because I wanted to switch industries.
I cleared the background check, drug test and filled out my new hire paperwork. They even sent me a swag box.
Only to call me this morning, not even a full business day before I was supposed to start next Monday to tell me that “due to restructuring, we no longer have the funds for your role”. They offered me a in-store position for $15 an hour instead.
These employers are not your friends, they WILL screw you over at any opportunity. Luckily I was able to get my old job back, but I’m really hoping to spread the word about this. We have to name and share these companies.
