So I work in patient care at a medical facility and today I got an email from one of my managers. Now, there’s only a total of 4 people including myself in my job role. Two people, not myself, were shouted out for doing an exemplary job. Now, I’m not flattering myself but I’d like to think from all the email replies I’ve gotten from patients I’ve dealt with that I am going above and beyond for them. But according to my managers, I am not. Now I’m thinking of taking a backseat at work and finding a new job. In all honesty, I had plans to find a new job for a while now but was a bit lazy to get on to doing so. But I also know one of my managers doesn’t like me much because I had asked for a transfer in the past. I’m not really asking for advice here, I’m just a bit frustrated and needed an outlet to vent. After reading that email, I honestly wanted to reply with my 2 weeks notice. It took a lot of patience to just not respond with it. But I’m taking a breather and also coming to the realization that for one, they don’t pay me enough. For my job title, I get paid around $6-$9 less per hour. I even resorted to doing UberEats once our hours got cut tremendously. Long story short, FUCK THEM!! I’ll probably stick it out for 2 more months, put my vacation time in, and hand my 2 week notice in when I’m ready.
