This dates all the way back to 2008 but this sub made me think if it. My friend and I went to a relatively large high school (~1500 students) and wanted to look good for prom so we decided to start going to a tanning salon in the weeks prior.
The front desk girl at this salon went to my high school but I didn’t know her (knew of her). She wasn’t part of any of my friend groups and was a grade below me, but nonetheless I recognized her.
One day as I’m waiting for my friend to finish up I made small talk with the front desk girl. We were talking for maybe a minute or 2 when, what seemed like out of thin air, her manager showed up. Her manager had this pissed off look on her face and said something along the lines of “I thought I told you to not have your friends visit you at the salon”. Things got awkward at the point and my friend had finished up at that point so we just left. I felt so bad for the girl at the front desk because we had just gotten her in trouble with her manager for being friendly.
That manager must’ve been on some kind of huge power trip and wanted to watch the world burn.
