Switching back to my old role…

3 months ago I took on a new job with the same company I’ve been with for nearly 4 years now. It is a position that pays roughly 52k a year, an increase of my previous job which was around 41k. So it was a big jump for a job that turned out to be a terrible fit for me. It doesn’t really suit my strengths and interests. I travel a lot for it, which is alright, but I’m paying rent to not be home. I left my old job because the supervisor at the time gave me daily anxiety.

She has since left and the new supervisor is much more cooperative and less on a power trip. She says she has two positions open on my old team, and I am considering taking up her offer since I am VERY unhappy in this new job.

It’s unlikely she can meet my new salary, but I need some help with negotiating a somewhat higher pay if I do end up going back. I’ve been able to live on that previous wage alright, but a pay cut is a pay cut and I’d like my worth to be reflected in my pay.

What sort of things can I say or questions can I ask? I’m not very good at this.
