Very Possibly Losing My Job Soon After a Short Time There. Just Need Some Good Vibes

I got out of a toxic job back in November and started a new job in a new company. This field was a bit of a pivot from my last job and something I was genuinely interested in and they knew that when they hired me. Unfortunately, I haven’t been getting up to speed to their standards in the past 4 months. There is a lot of information so it was easy to get that mixed up. The role required some attention to detail and I made some mistakes, many of which I improved on, but it doesn’t seem to be enough. But they told me at the beginning that the first 6 months would be a ramp up period. Was put on an improvement plan at the beginning of the month and we would check in every two weeks to track progress. First check in they said I was on track and showing some improvements. However, I saw yesterday’s notes in the document and they weren’t too good.

Also, my manager and I were a mismatch. I didn’t like her management style at all. She would make lots of assumptions and just assume that I wasn’t taking notes, active listening, or using resources (all of which were untrue). Speaking of active listening, she would milk that term. Whenever I would make a mistake, she would say that I wasn’t “active listening”. People mishear and misinterpret but that does not mean they were not active listening. Also, she herself didn’t have the best active listening skills either as she would constantly interrupt me and cut me off whenever I was talking. Not interrupting others is an integral part of active listening.

Just feeling lost and sad right now and not sure what to do. Of course applying to other jobs but this just sucks. Got out of one toxic job only to get into something that wasn’t much better in the end. Also, just for the record, this hasn’t happened with me at every job. At my last job, things were great for the first 8 months until there were some changes in leadership leading to toxicity. And my very first job, I made mistakes of course but it was never ever toxic and I was there for 3.5 years. To make matters worse, I’m immunocompromised and this means I won’t have health insurance soon and will likely need to pay a big premium for cobra
