Made it to the final stage of a job application and was unsuccessful because I could only supply 1 reference not 2. I’m 29 and almost done with trying.

This is the 4TH TIME this has happened in 7 months. I am so incredibly demotivated and the application process is a degrading song and dance so you can possibly earn enough to live and save scraps. I put in my COVER LETTER for this recent position that if I were to progress that I would NOT be able to provide 2 references. I was told I did VERY well and they practically requested every other document from me that they needed in terms of onboarding a new employee. But no. I am simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH to have a job at 29 years old because I only have 1 human being saying I worked alright not 2. WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO?
