Basically this comes down to improving the wages of everyone in your field. My company uses feedback from our internal and external recruiters to influence the starting salary for postings. The goal is to be competitive with other companies in the area but they arent exactly cold calling them for the information. We recently had to increase the amount twice for the same posting because of this feedback. So now when I get calls / emails from recruiters, I immediately ask for salary information, which has been provided more readily recently, and say thats not even remotely close to what I am making now.
