I am a resident physician at a “top” hospital in the US. We are not given any sick days. So any days missed will be taken out of our limited yearly vacation.
Vacation is what I live for as a resident because of my insane work schedule. I have a bad cold right now, but went to work anyway to avoid being penalized and losing my precious vacation. Yet, I feel judged for being sick at work.
You want cheap labor and the freedom to abuse residents? Well don’t be mad when I show up sick as a dog and give you what you asked for.
