Hello guys,
I came accros this sub and really enjoy it. It’s crazy to think we are that many to think about changing the way we work.
I have a question though, because I am from Europe, and a lot of posts are about healthy security.
Just wanted to know from an American how does it actually work in the us.
For instance, in Western Europe, I have my gross salary, and I receive a net salary. This is because I (mostly) pay government tax, retirement tax, unemployment revenue tax and health tax.
So when I for instance have to go to the doctor or the hospital, I have to pay the bill but I immediately get paid back by the government. I think it is about 400€ per month in my country, but don’t really see it because it is in the tax before receiving the salary.
A lot of people talk about how health security is miserable, but I cannot imagine the richest country in the world not having the same ? I keep hearing medicine is only for rich people in the us, but here we actually pay 400€ per month, and I think you can pay the same, it’s just that you have to do it after you receive de salary.
Can someone please explain ? I think it is a really interesting subject for someone like me who has no idea how are things overseas.
