Not every department’s project can be a priority at the same time….

This is more of a rant than anything, but why is it that I can’t go even an hour at work without one of the many people I answer to coming back and telling me that something else has to take priority. I’m told to stop working on the project I am currently on and work on this “hot priority” project. Not every department’s project can be a priority at the same time. Before 9am this morning I am already being pulled in 3 different directions and already feel the need to just zone out and decompress. Why do companies continue to take on more contracts and projects then they know their workforce can handle?
