Worked at a cafe franchise for over a year until just this afternoon.
Had a meeting with my store manager and was informed that they’ve decided to let me go. The reason? I accidentally picked up a shift a month or two ago and realized only too late that 1. It was a morning shift, and 2. It was actually at another cafe. This only happened once, yet they decided to do this to me. I feel devastated. Yes, it was partially my fault, but it was only one time! On one hand though, it feels good to be able to finally actually breathe a little and do something else.
It still hurts though.
