I FINALLY DID IT!!!! THANK YOU r/antiwork

tldr: Just gonna cut to the chase I left work without 2 weeks notice thanks to this sub and it is the best I have felt in a long time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND First post on reddit don't know if I am doing this right but for those who are interested here is what happened: I started of naive and believed that working lots whilst at college(UK, different to what Americans call college) would give me a head start in life. I was seriously wrong, I began work at the end of October at McDonald's with a open mind and working four shifts a week. First post on reddit don't know if I am doing this right but for those who are interested here is what happened:

I started of naive and believed that working lots whilst at college(UK, different to what Americans call college) would give me a head start in life.

I was seriously wrong, I began work at the end of October at McDonald's with a open mind and working four shifts a week. Soon enough this took an effect on my mental health however I tried to push through it.

It was about around December time when I found this sub and was liking the confidence that you guys have to stand up to these companies. Truly inspirational. I have wanted to quit for a while now but just felt trapped. This carried on until now.

The day I quit was just like any other, get there think about my decisions such as: why am I even still here, they don't care about me why do I feel obliged to work here etc. It was around half way into my shift felt really bad and just wanted to leave I practiced what I would do multiple times through my head. Then they sent me on my break, slightly relieving. I then went straight on my phone and opened reddit to pass time. I saw a post that they are proud of Gen Z(which I am) for leaving without notice. This immediately gave me the confidence to do this got up clocked out and left. Without that post and many others that got me here I would still be an employee their. So I thank you anti work elders in showing us Gen Z's that leaving work is an acceptable thing.

If anyone else is in this position like mine. Leave. Don not fear the mega cooperation's. If we leave we might be able to take them to their knees and re-shape society for the better but that is hopeful thinking.
