Recently I have had some tooth pain that's gotten so bad I had to take some time off work. Technically most of that time was apart of my already scheduled time off so I've only had to call in sick one day. My boss is aware of everything and has helped to make accommodations for me like a good boss should which I thought was nice. So I was finally able to get to my scheduled appointment at the dentist where they took x-rays but couldn't do anything right away so that meant I was going to need to take another day off totalling two whole days off of work. A lot, I know. Anyways, I told my boss I would need more time to get my tooth fixed before I could go back to work and she questioned me to see if I was taking medicine yet and if they prescribed me anything and after a while she finally asked what I knew she was going to ask and said “let me know how the medicine works and maybe you can come in tomorrow because Coworker has had to work everyday and needs a day off”. I was pretty annoyed but I understood. My coworker was going through medical stuff too and so I thought it was totally fair to come in and help her have a day off. Well I come in and the day sucked as I'm feeling nauseous and sick all day long and simply shouldn't have been there. My other coworker comes in and says “I can't believe our boss made you come in”. I told her how it sucked but I was fine with it because I know coworker needed a day off. This is when I find out that apparently my coworker was totally fine with covering for me and actually planned to do so but she would have to open which meant my boss would have to close which is something she despises. My boss lied to me and tricked me and used my empathy against me to make me work while incredibly sick just because she doesn't close. I hate my life so fucking much.
