I don’t follow/watch the show, but I got this video on my FYP and thought it was interesting.
Reba Buhr is a voice actress who previously worked on the dubbed version of the show, and asked for a raise going into the next season. Employer refused, so she quit (good for her!).
In the video she discusses how different actors were at different tiers of pay, and they had to sign NDAs so they couldn’t talk about the differences in pay. I thought this was interesting, since I’m pretty sure this is illegal in the US.
I’m not 100% sure though, since the original show is based in France and I’m not sure how labor laws would work for such a project. I also thought this was interesting because last time I heard, working conditions in animation aren’t great and I wonder if the great resignation has spread to the industry (and if so, I’d love to hear about it).
