I just started a job as “Guest Services” for a Healthcare facility. I wasn't trained properly and after one week, my boss contracted Covid.
Since she was my trainer, I was thrown into her job on a busy Monday. I had no idea what I was doing the whole week and made a lot of mistakes, of course. I walked in today after a week of her being off and she was sitting at the desk with no notice. I was sent home after driving the whole way to work (um, gas prices?) and she said the company wanted us both there in case she tested positive on site.
She gave me next week's schedule that she worked on at home. I was given 6 hours next week. The following week, she gave me 3 hours on Easter Sunday.
Just a reminder that companies will suck you dry when they need you and kick your ass to the curb when they're done.
