The location that I work at wouldn’t let us take off work from 12/20-12/26 because it’s peak sales and they needed everyone they could get which I understand. However I live in a town with a major college in the state I live in. Most of the people that go there aren’t more than 4hr drive from their home town. At least 40% of the staff goes to this college and isn’t from this city. You are expecting them to stay and work for $11/hr compared to spending time with there families. Yea fuck that
We had a tornado warning last month. The sirens started going off cause 4 tornadoes had touched down; within 5 miles of the store that work at. We have a home goods right next to us that is also owned my TJX. They closed cause their store manager had the decency to ask the general manager if they could close early. My manager just told us all to get back to work but stay away from the front windows(where all the cash registers are). I’m in the south, there were still people shopping and going in and out.
Even after we all clock out we have to wait for a manager/key carrier to let us out. We can sit there for 10 minutes waiting for them. Like send the time we walked out to the MOD group chat and have them manually put it in when they open the next day. (It’s not that much time but still)
Nobody send this to TJX corporate pls
