So I've been having a debate with my parents over wage and how people choose to spend their money, and their solution is for people to watch what they spend (don't spend money on coffee, fast food, skip the dishes, luxuries, miscellaneous things etc) and if their job isn't paying enough they should get a better one (but not quit until they've found a better paying job) only then can they get out of the financial rut they're in. How the poor take advantage of the system.
I can't really give any counter arguments since the only stats I have are from the states, so if your Canadian, do you have any advice or statistics? Cause they're starting to make me believe thats its not the circumstances you're put in but what you make of it that counts the most.
(They also believe essential jobs like grocery workers or fast food workers should be done by either young people or retired people doing part time)
