Couple of months ago I started working for a very small graphic design firm. The whole team was made up of 4 people and the owner. We had 2 big clients, so 3 of us were working on projects and 1 was coordinating and taking care of the rest of the company basically. Not only was the workload insane, but the boss was just never there. She’s peaked in every once in a while, called us to complain and collected her pay-check. The pay wasn’t great either. We knew exactly how much the company makes as well.. we were running it. She takes about 80% of the net profit. About a month ago we spoke to her about a) hiring more people, b) increased pay, c) more structure. None of it was addressed and she basically told us that due to the economic situation around nothing can be done. So we quit and decided to form our own company. Plus, we have a big chance of taking those two clients as they have been informed about the change and I guess they are used to us. Good luck to her!
