I recently applied for a financial aid counselor position from the college I actually graduated from. When I applied, it stated the pay was $15.16 an hour but could be higher based on qualifications. I went ahead and applied because I’m desperate to leave my job and thought I could fight for the pay to be increased (I have 7 years experience and a masters while this position only calls for a bachelors). It also asked for my current salary on the application (which I was honest about and I make about $27 an hour)
I got the call to set up the interview and the lady says “we would like to set up an interview with you, but we couldn’t help but notice your current salary-would you still be open to the $15.16 per hour? I responded that I felt I should be compensated more based on my qualifications and she quickly said bye and hung up.
I tried to report the listing on indeed, but can no longer find it.
