So about a month ago, we got a new policy on our uniforms at my district's Wendy's. Get a load of this:
If a crew member is out of uniform, send them home and call in the GM to work for them (current GM is horribly overworked already and isn't even officially a GM so they get the pay of Assistant Manager)
Then write up the ops leader for the day
Then write up the GM who we JUST established has to come in to work after this.
But it gets better. I mentioned our GM wasn't the technical GM. Our original GM got into an accident and is still recovering, but we kind of just accepted our AM being bumped up a position. But just last week, we learned that despite asking for the position, some other manager for a different store is just being handed our store despite never working here before yesterday. That means she also gets the store's bonus as GM. Most people don't seem to like her, either, so I made a plan to abuse the new policy to either make corporate see how asinine this really is or to use if the “new GM” ends up being bad.
Unfortunately, the higher ups refuse to pick a side and won't admit in writing that she's the GM of our store, yet still give her the bonus for it. I kind of like our GM and some of my coworkers, so I while ideally I'd like them to jump ship before this entire thing sinks, some people just don't have an open enough mind to leave. On one hand, I want to get as far away from this place as I can and never come back, but on the other hand, they've given me such a prime opportunity to burn them for their idiotic upper management.
Btw this is the same store that said “customer reviews are going to be a priority in your life starting today” so I' curious how far they think they can push their luck. I'm willing to fight them on pretty much anything they do that's bad, but it's only a matter of time at this rate that other people are gonna get tired of this game.
