So I’m not quite sure how to start this off but I’ve been struggling with severe depression and anxiety my whole life. It’s a chore to even get dressed to go shopping. I’ve been very open with everyone in my life about my depression and how It affects me.
Now for story time: so roughly 3 hours before my shift ends after being left to operate half the store and clean showers (it’s a truckstop) I had told my manager that I can’t continue this shift due to my mental health.
After getting upset, he asked if I’m able finish the shift to which I replied “no.” He then gets flustered and says he’ll have to talk with the general manager because “we gotta run a business”
How and when should I take action and what should be my steps moving forward? This is really my first issue I’ve had with something like this and I’m not sure how to handle it.
TLDR: my manager doesn’t care I’m depressed and is probably gonna try to get me fired for going home
