Need some advice on post accident drug test

So this is going to be a kind of long one. I will try and keep it clear and to the point…a little background, in August of 2020 I had an ACL graft. I took a forklift job after healing up as my last job was too rough on my body. Fast forward to June of 2021, my knee was healing up nicely and I thought everything was great. At the time I was driving a hyster 60 and my group lead drove a hyster 100. He had a vacation day so I was jumping back and forth driving his forklift when I needed to move heavier galvanized coils. My boss was talking to me while I was unwrapping a the coil. I was one person doing two peoples work so I was rushing and was flustered with my boss trying to talk to me while I was doing this.…

I was one person doing two peoples work so I was rushing and was flustered with my boss trying to talk to me while I was doing this. The hyster 100's forks are about 2 feet longer, so I wasn't thinking they would be sticking out of the coil by two feet. While talking to my boss and trying to be quick I rushed around the coil and rammed my knee into the fork. He asked am I ok. I said I think I'm alright just sore. Took some ibuprofen and moved on. The next day I woke up still sore I tell him, he says keep me informed. After working 30 hours using my knee constantly it is starting to put me in excruciating pain. I inform my boss, he says after two days it's been too long and it's on me. This brings me to get yesterday. I have been jumping thru all kinds of hoops and going to different Drs trying to find out what's wrong. My family Dr was thinking we were gonna have to do surgery again. I meet with the surgeon he believes it's a quad issue that goes back that original injury back in June. I get back and my boss asks for an update and I tell him what my Dr says, he sends me to HR. HR tells me I was in the wrong and the law requires them to send me to the clinic. At the clinic they drug test me. I failed for marijuana. It was late on a Friday so HR isn't sure what to do. I was supposed to work today but can't. HR is supposed to call me Monday morning. They said it's not an automatic termination but we are going to have to figure it all out. I'm really confused on how they could drug test me 8 months after an accident. It's not like there is a drug known to man that would still be in my system. Anyone have any advice on what my next steps are?

TLDR: injured at work, boss said it was on me cause I waited 2 days to say I needed to be looked at. 8 months later they drug test me and I fail, not sure what to do now
