Today I was at Cabela’s buying rain gear for work. I was talking to the cashier and mentioned that I was in IATSE. She lit up and asked me if I heard about how Amazon had gotten a union at one of their locations. “Yeah” I said, “Christian Smalls, he got fired on some bullshit though.” She went on to say how great it was to see people coming together to form unions to protect their rights as workers. However she looked around and lowered her voice saying “I should be careful what I say at work though.” I went on to tell her what a world of difference it was to work in a properly unionized work place. She agreed saying how she used to be part of the nurses union and we just pretty much went on about how it was great to band together, to make a difference and have your rights protected at work. I ended the conversation by saying “after all the bullshit from the past 2 years we deserve to be protected and properly compensated for coming into work.” I could tell this really made her day and it certainly made mine. Just wanted to share this with all of you
