A proposal on how to see this sub

I've seen a lot of debate here about what this sub represents and if our goals here should be to completely get rid of all work or just aim for better and more equitable working conditions and compensation. I am not very active on this sub, so I could be all wrong but I think this discussion is not a very helpful one. The way I see it, r/antiwork should be seen as what it is: a platform for information, discussion and calls to action. Really, the revolution is not going to happen on reddit, but we have seen that local protests, strikes or even individuals standing up has had real, measurable impact and this sub can absolutely motivate and inform people to take action. So one the one hand: please don't tell people this sub is not for them if all they want is a fairer wage and better…

So one the one hand: please don't tell people this sub is not for them if all they want is a fairer wage and better benefits, those of us living paycheck to paycheck simply don't have the time and energy to only fight for a radical change in society, and these people should not be discouraged from taking part in this sub, they should be encouraged to organise and make a change. On the other hand, discussing theory and open discussion on how far we can take a labour movement is necessary and every movement needs it's radicals.
In the end, this sub is helped by sharing news articles about strikes, small thoughtpieces on how capitalism screws us all over and even people jusr venting or telling their boss to piss off. They give people hope, help then change their mind and 'degaslight' people about how work is unfair. Do not mistake this sub for the actual movement though, the change will happen if people join unions, engage in (local) politics and civil right movements and I think this sub should be seen as the place where we encourage people to do so.

Tldr: this sub is not 'the movement' it is the discussion platform for many local movements and gatekeeping on this sub does not help.

P.s. While discussion should be open, there are absolutely posts that should not be condoned such as obvious trolling or racist/sexist/transphobic comments, these only make discussion less open.
