Antiwork

Thought I hated jobs. Then I got a career.

Was working a series of dead end no benefit jobs earning ~$15 an hour in clinical services, admin, etc. Long hours, psychopath CEOs, micromanaging managers, petty snake coworkers. Either too many hours or not enough hours. Felt the soul was being sucked out of me and on my days off I couldn’t do anything but sleep. Hated working. Then I got a job making around $75k USD, with full private healthcare including dental and vision, 6 weeks holiday (including public holidays), and flexible working. Have a great leadership team, a manager who cares about development, clear promotion tracks, and reasonable expectations. Now I like working! Funny that isn’t it 🤔 Edit: since some of you didn’t get the point of this post- there’s hope. Hope for all of us. Through solidarity we can all have this and more!
