So I work for a small glass company. We have a small team and my boss is convinced he's Gods antithesis to the world. Nothing he does is ever wrong. Unless it is and then it's exactly how he planed for it.
Lately he's been pushing the team to make larger, thinner works. Expecting us to make something under an hour that should take at least 2.
It's hard to manage heat and hard to manage the shape of the object due to its heat. He is also complain about size and thinness, but we've lost 2 out of the five we've made so far. Now he wants to take out the cost of the objects out of our salaries.
The fault is not ours, the fault is he's. He changes his mind every few seconds because of his artistic inclination, but then complains that the shape does not look like the original.
I'm really fed up. I love my job and in a way love what we do and our work together. But his a hindrance to the team. When he is not around we work much better.
I don't really know what to do. He pays me just enough to live, I've had to close my saving accounts and credit accounts because I can't pay into them anymore. If I could find another job I would take it, but at the moment he pays me just enough to keep me going. I feel like I'm trapped in an endless cycle of bullying and him just paying me enough to keep me on.
Any advice out there for what I could possibly do.
I want to quite, but he has done so much for over the last 4 years that I don't know how to approach my own thoughts on the matter.
I honestly hope he's company goes under, that way I won't be financially inclined and under his control.
