I do service work in the trades, I'm the lead of the company I work for and I genuinely enjoy my work. I fix broken shit for people and 9.8/10 times those people are very happy to have someone like me taking care of them. Anyhow…I've had cold/flu symptoms for the past few days, yesterday I went to work sick af because a fairly important job had been scheduled for over a week ago and I was the only person in the company to be trusted with completing the job. So with the help of a newer guy we got the job done and all is well. I took medicine and got through the day feeling like shit.
Today I woke up feeling like shit but not as bad as yesterday, I chose to say fuck it and called in sick to work. There was nothing super important on my schedule so I'd probably end up picking up the slack for the other department and I didn't want to do that while I feel like shit so I called off.
Now I sit here alone, wife is at work, my son is at school, my dog is on the couch beside me (he's not allowed on this couch shhh), I just lit up a joint in the daytime for the first time in years and I'm chilling watching the new Halo series. I should feel guilty knowing I could've went to work but I don't.
I'm not hurting anyone and I never do anything like this so fuck it
