So I am working for this company for half a year. The job is on an education level I never got papers for but worked my way to achieve. Because of this I see a lot of red flags from experience in other jobs. I have voiced these observations to my boss who is the owner of the company, with possible solutions and how I could see my own part in putting these changes in motion. HR was in the conversation as well. Both were super enthousiastic and saw me in a number of roles that would benefit the company. Only issue; I am needed where I am now and would only get my hands free for another position if they automate part of the process for the role I'm in now. Which would be happening “soon”.
Forward 4 months; our department that will build the automation projects for 2023 to finalize automation and will only start a pilot then. Leaving me stuck in my role, which I sincerely hate. The job is nothing as it was sold to me in my on-boarding and so I started looking for another job.
Due to unfortunate circumstances (a company going under, my position becoming obsolete, a temporary project and my burnout) I hopped jobs after a year quite often in the last 6 years which is understandably not attractive at all to a potential new employer. This sentiment is extremely noticable in the interviews I've had so far.
I feel like I'm stuck at this position. Every day I feel less happy thinking about the only way out is through by building some credibility by staying here for at least 2 years. In the meantime the quality and speed of my work is dropping like a brick due to motivation.
Blegh.
