This literally just happened.
I received a text message, stating that someone found my resume on CareerBuilder, and asked if I was still seeking employment.
I responded that I might be interested, but would need to know more about the position, including where to find an official job posting.
I got a brief response back, indicating that it was an entry level management position that offers full training; maintaining business accounts, as well as leading and supervising a small team. This response also asked if I would be available at 'date/time.'
Just because I was still curious, I indicated that I was available for that meeting, but again wanted to see a job posting, so that I would be fully prepared for an interview.
An immediate response confirmed my interview, provided their address, and was told to bring a resume and dress professionally.
By now, the red flags were going up all over the place. So I again messaged that I wanted to see a job posting. This time adding that the lack of an official job posting was a concern for me.
This must have made this person worried, that I might be on the right track to finding out the job was not what they were trying to fill. Because they replied 'So then you can be removed. Best of luck!'
Bottom line: wanting to know more about the job was too much of a concern for the recruiter.
