Many managers behave as if they have an active contempt for the people they manage. The low wages are bad enough, but the disrespect is what’s causing the breaking point

Following people into the bathroom, preventing bathroom breaks, spying on workers, telling them (gleefully) they can't miss work for a funeral or medical emergency, the baristas who can't skip work when they are vomiting during a shift, the managers who won't install security features for night workers, the managers who laugh at people who need mental health treatment and breaks. Low wages were tolerable for most people for a few decades now, but the disrespect is getting on people's nerves. might as well doordash or start your own business or sell food on facebook.
