So, I'm simply curious if there is ANYTHING that can be done here.
I work for a grocery store. Recently, a department manager was promoted to the assistant store manager position. He basically does little to no work. He either walks around the store talking to other employees or he's upstairs hiding/chit-chatting with office employees.
Over the years, he's shown up late & leaves early (claiming he arrived early). He told a bunch of guys that he slept with one of the cashiers. He's lazy and has spent the majority of his time upstairs sitting on a computer chair when he should be downstairs on the floor managing. He and another employee were teasing a transgender male.
Overall, I wouldn't call him a model employee by any means. Unfortunately, our store manager seems to be A-OK with a select few doing virtually nothing all day while the rest of us slave away.
I'm sure there's absolutely nothing that can be done, unfortunately. It just irks me that he was never fired.
It goes to show you, that if you show up late, leave early, do nothing all day, you can achieve anything!
