Stuck in a contract that forces me to pay to quit

Welp the title says it all, I signed a company that ties me to them for several years. If I want to quit I have to pay them 2 months salary, I make around $37,000 after taxes, 2 months wouldn’t be possible, even with my wife making what she does. I’m wanting to challenge this but that costs money. I feel like I have a case since it’s a boilerplate contract and I believe it’s mostly the same for everyone which, is NOT liquidated damages as claimed, instead, a penalty to quit. Tl;dr: can’t quit my job for a better paying gig because if I do I owe “liquidated damages” Edit: I’m salaried not a contractor, located in non-union friendly southern state in USA
