So I just got a new second job that involves helping kids with disabilities. Everything seemed simple and straightforward, paperwork was done and I was waiting for a day to start with this new kid
Today I get home from another job I got (old job) that's a overnight 10 hour shift gig. It's basically watching over a house in with adults disabilities. It's not too hard, I'm basically a security guard but I come home tired for obvious reasons
I come home and I get a text from my new job. My new boss this lady texts me something along the lines of “Hey can I talk to you today from 12 or 1?”. I say “Sure call me at 1”. It's 1:20 and my boss don't call so I say fuck it and call her
The first response I get is “Oh good you called you nearly failed my test”. Of course I'm a little confused and go “Huh?”. “Well in this job you need to be proactive for the child and need a can do attitude, if you called any later I would have taken you off”. Internally I'm like “bitch I haven't even done a day of work for you guys yet calm the fuck down this is my day off”. But I'm polite and more importantly tired so I go “Sure yeah, what did you want to talk about?”.
She goes “Well you don't sound too happy to do this job”. I go “Yeah well I'm not too happy now coming off a 10 hour shift with nearly no sleep on my other job”. Then she gets all apologetic “oh you have another job? why didn't you tell me?”. I go “I did. This is why I said I don't do today because I would be too tired”. After that the talk went more civily (and I don't want to/can't recall too much, still tired) but still, what the fuck
Don't fucking play around with stupid ass tests and make assumptions about my life and character. I work hard and you can fuck off for demanding my “enthusiasm for the job” on my off time. When I'm off I'm off and really unless it's a emergency you're lucky I talk to you at all. And you got a lot of fucking nerve talking to me like this when we haven't even met in person yet
