I’ve been looking for a job for a couple months now, I keep going to interviews and then getting ghosted. I got as far as getting a job offer so I asked when I could start, what’s the pay, and what my hours would be and got radio silence in response. The fact that this consistently happens after successful interviews and a resumé that’s just stacked with years of fine dining and high volume restaurant experience that shows I know wtf I’m doing when it comes to cooking professionally yet all I get when it comes time to pull the trigger and seal the deal the rug gets pulled out from under me and I’m left with another one sided conversation asking for a follow up that I know deep down will never come. Has anyone else experienced this? It’s getting to the point now that I’m starting to think I need to just suck it up and work at some miserable minimum wage shithole because at least it’s a paycheck. I don’t understand how every restaurant seems to be in such dire need of cooks but not enough to want to answer such a simple question as “what time do I show up” and “how much will you pay me?”
